We are Tàn Mọ́lẹ̀

Learn It | Sing It | Dance It

About Us

Tàn Mọ́lẹ̀ is a cultural initiative which integrates learning Yoruba language and culture with singing, dancing and theatre. Just like the Yoruba culture, our classes and activities are fun, exciting and easy to follow. Our activities include LIVE online language classes, musical instrument lessons (including percussion, keyboard and talking drums), theatre and community choir. Each programme, activity and learning experience culminates in uplifting singing, dancing and drumming! No matter the scale or magnitude, each event at Tàn Mọ́lẹ̀ is engaging, uplifting and fulfilling.

Meaning

The phrase "Tàn Mọ́lẹ̀" in Yoruba means "shine forth" or "shine the light". In a loving, exciting and simple way, we learn the Yorùbá language, how to speak it authentically with proper pronunciation, and then apply to various forms of the art i.e. singing, poetry, theatre and music.

Warm and Welcoming

Whether you're attending an online class or in-person event, the group setting is warm, welcoming and friendly. Moreover, the eagerness to learn and grow is contagious! Regardless of your preference, there is an activity for everyone.

We look forward to you and yours joining us!
